My arrival.

Hello everybody,

So let me begin with I am in Australia and it is hotter than hell. For all of you who don’t know, I left on Monday Feb 16, and I arrived Wed Feb 18. No joke, the whole day of the 17th pretty much never existed. My flight from Boston to LA was fine, and then my FOURTEEN hour flight from LA to Brisbane was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. If you have never traveled overseas before, like I haven’t, you get on the plane and on your seat is a new pillow, new blanket, eye mask, water, trail mix, a mini toothbrush and toothpaste, a lanyard (not sure what for), and some comfy socks. Also, each seat has its own tv and there are many different shows and movies you can get on demand. I watched 3 episodes of Family Guy and I also watched the movie “Australia,” how appropriate I know. Luckily I had an isle seat so I could get up whenever I wanted without disturbing others. For those of you who know my fear of public bathrooms, I got up and used them twice! Yay. Oh ya, and the plane was HUGE. . .it was a double decker and had 80 something rows with 11 seats in each row! YIKES.

So, sine I was afraid I would starve on the flight, I brought a large bag cheez-its, gummy worms, and 3 cliff bars. Too bad I still ate almost all that along with the hot dinner of chicken that they provided and also a pretty decent breakfast. So no worries mom and dad, my stomach didn’t really eat itself.

Enough about the flight though. I arrived about half an hour behind schedule and found my way through customs without a problem. Luggage came without a problem, and my ride, Karina, was waiting for me as soon as I exited through the automatic doors. As we were getting in the car I almost got in on the wrong side not remembering that they drive on the other side of the road. The drive to my new town of residency, Arundel, was about an hour long. It was raining the whole way home so I couldn’t even rubber neck cause I couldn’t see that well out the window. As soon as we got home, a very nice dog named molly was barking up a storm but was very friendly. She likes to lick a lot, which we all know is what I love most about dogs. But really, she is cute and friendly and I have talked to her more than anyone else so far. Haha. Anyways, after we arrived around 10 I unpacked and then took a nice long, 7 hour nap. I’m all rested up now and ready to start the day, but oh wait, its 9pm so I guess that means I am going to have to go to bed soon.
