First full day.

My first full day in Australia. . .well it was about 29 degrees Celsius, which thanks to my little cheat sheet made by Chadd, is about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. I went to bed around 2am and work up around 5am and then went back asleep for about another hour. I am clearly not adjusted to the time change. Last night I fell asleep with a lizard in my room that was in the corner of the wall and ceiling. . . when I woke up this morning, it was gone. I’m thinking that’s a good thing but who knows where it went. . .

So I wanted to get a good idea of where I actually was, so after google earthing the town and everything around it, I finally decided to go for a run and actually check it out. Due to the hot temperatures (that’s my excuse at least), my run turned into a walk after about 8 minutes and it pretty much stayed that way for the rest of the time. I walked by many many houses and not much else. Although I must say it is pretty hilly around here so I don’t know if I will be going for many more runs.

I finally met Bruce today. . .for those of you who don’t know who Bruce is, he is the guys house I am staying in and he is a member of the club team that I will be playing with. . .and he is very nice, not that I expected otherwise, but I guess it was just good to finally meet him. So now I have 3 new friends, Karina (Bruce’s daughter), Bruce and Molly (who still likes to lick a lot and now I find her sleeping on my bed, i don’t know how I feel about that) haha.

Alright so we had our first family dinner and then afterwards I went to my first training session. It started around 7 and went for about an hour and 15 minutes. . .the only thing I think I can compare the heat to is Virginia Beach during the futures tourney. The girls were asking “ do you always sweat this much.” No joke. I was like ummm yup, esp. when it’s THIS hot out. But it was fun to play, I am definitely a little rusty but that’s alright. The only other embarrassing thing about playing today was that I was wearing a red t-shirt and everyone else had either blue, white or black on. So therefore I stood out even more than I already did (this sorta reminded me of the time Shuter and I were playing in the senior all-star game in our all red long sleeved under armour outfits)! Gooood times.

I guess that is all for now. I had a couple of skype sessions today. . . my microphone was not working at first but I finally fixed it. . .and I’m still waiting to have a skype session with Hudie. . .hopefully tomorrow?!?! And anyone who doesn’t have skype should probably get it!
